Yorkshire Artspace Silversmiths Starter Studio programme launched in 2002 to provide a valuable opportunity for early career makers. As part of the programme Sheffield Assay Office generously sponsor an annual commission, Precious Little Gems.
This display marks the 20th anniversary of the programme, highlighting the diversity and range of work produced over the past two decades. The display also includes the latest Precious Little Gems commission, Three Vases (2021) by Georgia Rose Clipsham.
The programme and the commission opportunity has marked the start of many careers, with participants successfully becoming practicing silversmiths in Sheffield and around the UK.
