Shepherd Wheel Workshop

Visit the two grinding workshops at Shepherd Wheel and hear more about their history from our engineer.

The workshops’ grindstones were used for grinding table knives and other domestic knives, and pocket and pen knives too. Unlike at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, Shepherd Wheel only carried out part of the production process – knives were ground and smoothed on site, but were sent elsewhere for polishing.
